The doctor will do a cystoscopy at the time of the corrective procedure to make sure the urethra, bladder, prostate, and kidneys are all functioning properly. The actual procedure, called a meatonomy, involves clipping the tip of the urethra to allow the urine to flow better (as I understand all of what the doctor said and all of what I am reading). He will be asleep for the procedure.
